Delaware Network for Excellence in Autism-Practice Traffic Stop
What is a practice traffic stop?
This program allows autistic drivers and passengers to work with the police in a safe, friendly space to practice a live traffic stop. It’s a great way to meet the police and ask them questions.
What will happen during the practice traffic stop?
During the practice traffic stop, you will drive your car in a parking lot. The police will pull you over like they would if you made a driving mistake. Then you will practice the steps of a traffic stop. Before coming, you should watch the pre-driving video and review the resource guide, What to Do During a Traffic Stop or Car Crash. Both resources can be found below.
How do I sign up for a practice traffic stop?
Interested drivers can sign up to participate in a 30-minute practice driving traffic stop. This opportunity is in partnership with the Delaware Natural Resources Police, Delaware State Parks, and the New Castle City Police Department.
Sign up for a 2026 date!
Who: Delaware Residents. Autistic drivers and passengers of all ages are welcome.
Police: Delaware Natural Resources Police and New Castle City Police Department.

Sensory Art & Craft Workshop with the Francois Foundation for Autism
This Sensory Art & Craft Workshop is 2 hours, structured, autism-friendly program designed for children with autism and other developmental disabilities. The workshop provides a calm, inclusive environment where children can explore hands-on art activities while also building emotional regulation and social skills.
Each session includes:
• A structured welcome with a visual schedule
• Sensory warm-up activities to support regulation
• Guided art activities using textured and adaptive materials
• A calm-down corner with fidgets and sensory tools
• Brief parent connection and resource-sharing time
In addition, we provide each participating child with a free sensory toy to take home, helping extend regulation tools beyond the workshop. We also provide pizza and drinks for families, creating a welcoming, community-centered environment where parents and children can connect comfortably.
The goal of the workshop is to encourage creative expression, improve emotional regulation, increase peer interaction, and reduce stress for families. We create a trauma-informed, supportive space where children can participate at their own pace and families feel welcomed and understood.
Cram the Car for Food Bank of Delaware
Help us Cram the Car for a great cause!

Our cars will be located in the parking lot to the right when you pull in the Consortium.
Stop by, bring a few cans, and help us fill the car (and then we will make something amazing with it in June!). Every donation makes a difference
Here are some examples of canned goods that could work well with our sculpture:
Canned vegetables
Canned soups
Canned meats like tuna and chicken
Canned fruits
Canned dinners (spaghetti and meatballs, ravioli, etc)
