Board of Directors
Amanda Willis
In 2023, Amanda Willis asked a simple but powerful question:
“Is anybody else out there?”
What began as a quiet question from a mother seeking connection quickly became a movement of belonging, advocacy, and action.
Amanda didn’t stop at wondering. She kept asking —
Would families like to gather in a safe, non-judgmental environment?
Why don’t we have a Young Athletes program here for our children?
Can we create sensory-friendly nights in our community?
Are there inclusive options — even something as simple as dye-free cookies — for our kids?
With every question, she built a bridge.
Amanda founded an online social support group that became a lifeline for special needs families seeking understanding and community. She helped initiate the addition of the Special Olympics Young Athletes program in Sussex County, opening doors for children to grow, play, and thrive. She coordinated the creation of sensory-friendly nights at Schellville, ensuring families could enjoy community spaces without fear or overwhelm. She brought families together through a carnival designed specifically so every child could participate fully and joyfully.
Amanda is not just an organizer — she is a connector.
Not just an advocate — but a catalyst.
She planted a seed rooted in one belief:
It’s Better Together.
Through courage, compassion, and relentless curiosity, Amanda turned one mother’s question into a growing community where families feel seen, supported, and celebrated.
